"Every hero was a villain in the end. War was corrupting us all."

You know, as much as I dislike the series as a whole, I do think the last two books were a bit better than the first two. This series is flawed, I have many, many problems with it. But one thing is for sure, it's addictive. Sure I skimmed some (ehm... many) parts, especially in book two, but it had its fast paced, entertaining moments and I think that this book was the better instalment from them. But all in all, it's such a frustrating, overly melodramatic series with hot and cold love interest and insconsistent romance which is either up one moment or completely down the next. I do think that, in the very end, some part of Darren redeemed itself in my eyes. Though I still dislike him for the most part, just as I will never be the biggest fan of the Ryia. But in the end, I accepted them and yeah, don't mind them as much. (Blame falls on the epilogue!)

"In fairy tales, the prince saved the girl. In mine, the princess destroyed him."

P.S. Ian is still 1000000% better person than both of the main characters!

P.P.S It's a weird day on this planet when Priscilla (the epitome of high school bitch queen in cliché movies) seems almost more reasonable than the MC. I did like the surprising depth to her character in the few secenes she was in.

“I regret very little.” Priscilla met my eyes. “But I regret that first year at the Academy, Ryiah. In another life, I think we could have been friends.”
