The entire Fisher family gathers for the matriarch Vivienne's 70th birthday party during a family photo session and accident occurs and it is revealed that the father, Patrick does in fact have a favorite daughter and the family then has to deal with the fallout from that.
Each of the three daughters is in their forties with children and partners of their own. So you get to see the family dynamic between the sisters as well as the parents and each of the sisters and their individual family relationships. I loved the really strong portrayal of the family Dynamics between adult children and their parents. As well as seeing how the way their parents treated them affects the way they raise and treat their own children.
This was such an incredibly powerful emotional read. Full of all of the feelings you would get at a family reunion and so much more. The extremely strong sisterhood bond you see between these three siblings is beautiful to read and the growth throughout this book is just amazing.
I definitely want to go back and read this author's first book. I can easily see her becoming an auto read author.
