Wow. I was nervous jumping into this book not expecting to like it. This was like an out of body experience. I felt nervous, pain, anxiety, and love as I continued my journey through this book.

Rin was a character that you couldn’t help but to support even if you knew she was making the wrong decisions, she had valid reasons behind every choice.

All the characters were amazing and I hurt when they hurt. My favorite was Altan, he was this icon when we were introduced then you realize that we looked at him with rose colored lens. He wasn’t a hero, he was angry.

Sigh I could continue on but to summarize. This was a deeply immersive fantasy that was steams from real historical facts. The world building and lore was amazing. None of this book felt slow, the pacing sped up or slowed and you felt the tension or the space in those moments. The characters are stunningly written. The world is dark and speaks to the atrocities of war. Please read this book for me. ❤️
