This book is unnecessarily condescending.... and attempts to address one of the most difficult questions in modern science; the birth of human language. While the author tries to discredit founding scientists, he also pokes fun at those offering a hypothesis as to the origin of language. The author concludes that speech is the foundation for our complex society not evolution. Um.... I don’t think any scientist would argue with that... the question isn’t why humans are so advanced, the question is how did our complex speech develop. This author is an ass that is pushing a higher power (aka himself or a higher power, unclear) while falsely redirecting the reader. I would give this zero stars if I could. In summary- the experts can’t figure it out, so it must be a God; how medieval.
