I cannot get over how perfectly Austen crafts her novels. Every single word she writes has a purpose and yet none of it feels contrived. I understand some might roll their eyes at the romcom nature of it all but love is an undeniable part of being human — there's a reason these stories have persisted to the 21st century. I also think Austen is just an author you have to read if you want to consider yourself at all knowledgeable of English literature. The cultural value she holds is massive.
