Bishop joined the NHL expansion team hoping to be captain but that did not happen since his teammate Rook was made captain. So when he saw a lady going into Rook's apartment he assumes his married captain is cheating on his wife. Only to later realize after insulting and basically being an ass, that the lady was Rook's sister, Stevie.

Stevie is a physiotherapist (I think) and she seems to have lived all her life in the shadow of her brother, so when her asshole boyfriend cheats on her, she is hurt to accept her brothers help. She decides to live in his NHL offered apartment until she is ready to find a place of her own. That is when she meets Bishop.

I will skip ahead.
Bishop hurt himself during a game and he has to rest until he is fit to play again. Stevie offers to do his PT, as long as he writes her a recommendation. This is when things really heat up between the two. I really enjoyed reading this book
