This book is DARK. like Pitch Black. Know that before reading it. Check the authors website for trigger warnings because this book has them ALL.

It’s also not great. It’s dark, yes, but it’s not great. I think my expectations were so much higher, and it felt like the author threw stuff on a page for the shock factor and to make the book darker. It was a revolving door of the same thing over and over. It became monotonous and dry. The extreme timeline jumps was unnecessary, and while I understand likely done for the continuing stories, it was a bit ridiculous.

The only character I liked was Aleric, because he was unhinged, crazy and psychotic but owned it; while the rest just believed themselves normal.

I don’t recommend this book, but if you do decide to read it, please, for the love of all things good, read the trigger warnings.
