Fair writing, enjoyable banter but the conflicts and their subsequent resolutions and how the plot is structured around them were not exactly my favourite. It also felt way too long in that the pace was too slow but the way conflicts were resolved did not have the corresponding payout because they weren’t fully fleshed out and dealt with, they were just kind of tied up neatly with bows.
It’s hard for me to find a sports romance with hockey at the forefront that I completely fall for - I mean, it’s 2025 for chrissakes and I haven’t at this point. One could call it my white whale. I would prefer to use an analogy where my quest to finding the ultimate hockey romance is a lot like trying to define what goalie interference actually is.
Alas, the search continues.
