Did not finish book.
DNF at 50%.

I just couldn't get into it. I felt this book wasn't at all captivating. The premise was great but the story was really lacking. One thing that bothers me -- if Arya is supposed to be the Little Mermaid why not use the name Ariel like they actually used Peter? So half the time I was trying to figure out if she was supposed to be the actual Little Mermaid or if she was a part of the mermaid group from Peter Pan. Upon reading others reviews she was definitely the Little Mermaid with really no traits of Ariel except red hair.

The characters were one dimensional. Peter was the only one with some sort of a personality and I didn't like it. There was really no connection between any of the characters. The only thing I was happy about was there wasn't a love triangle between James, Peter, and Arya. Mainly because I hate love triangles but secondly the love between Arya and James was so...blah. A love triangle would just be worse.

Like I said, I couldn't finish it. I love fairytale retellings too so it's a major bummer. Pick it up if you want a nice easy read that will leave you wanting more. lol.
