Although this is the 7th book in the series you don’t need to have read the first six. Sone past characters are mentioned very briefly, but there isn’t a whole rehashing of past plots which is a mistake I feel like a lot of other authors make. This is a true standalone within a series. Also I loved all the tropes in this one (enemies to lovers, fake dating, forced proximity, one bed, etc) and  my favorite line “I don’t hate you, Holland, I have never hated you”.
