House of Furies by Madeleine Roux
4.0

Alone in the world, orphan Louisa Dutton is barely surviving on what she makes as a traveling fortune-teller, so when a mysterious old woman offers her a job, she's willing to try it. Louisa is taken to Coldthistle House, where she discovers that Mr. Morningside and staff are luring in and killing evil people. Can Louisa escape? Should she?

House of Furies is very atmospheric and suspenseful, though I'm not sure it qualifies as true horror -- though it is meant for teens, so that may be why the scare factors are limited. Still, it's a creepy, mysterious book, and a perfect read for the Halloween season.
