Devil's Daughter
by Lisa Kleypas
I adored Devil's Daughter! By the end of chapter one, I was completely in love with the story! It was so entertaining with witty and charming characters. I loved West and Phoebe together, their first meeting, her feelings about him, the antagonism and flirting between the two, it was perfection. Their relationship had an incredible build and I couldn't get enough.
I have loved West since he was first introduced and was thrilled that he'd be getting his bit of happy. I've loved watching him grow over the course of the series, he was such a sweet man with a wonderful self-deprecating humor. He and Phoebe were quite the pair. I loved all they went through, the challenge between them, their growing attraction, and the personal feelings they were battling. There was a lot of emotion and entertaining moments as well that were incredibly fun. West was amazing with Phoebe’s kids, those scenes totally made me melt. I loved the development of West and Phoebe’s relationship, how it goes from animosity to friendship to a building passion… which turns pretty darn hot. I felt for West as he works out his personal demons and I love how Phoebe sees past all that. Phoebe was the best. She was strong from the start but by the end, I thought she was even more determined.
The start of the book felt like a reunion of sorts, seeing previous characters and I meeting new ones too. I loved all the updates on the families, the interactions of everyone, and the ties they've formed. I thought the bond between West and his brother Devon was fantastic. I loved seeing Sebastian and Evie again, they’re one of my all-time favorite couples. Speaking of, considering who Phoebe’s father is, the title is perfect! I love Sebastian but I have to say, West gave him a run for his money.
Lisa Kleypas is a master storyteller. I was so pulled into the banter, ease of dialogue, the wit. It was so well worded with the perfect flow. There were so many great scenes that really made their personalities shine. This was such an amazing story and my favorite in the series. It was an amazing read!
