I had such high hopes for this book and I was not disappointed. The book is filled to overflowing with the author’s rage, and love. It’s a beautiful and heart wrenching portrayal of aboriginal history and culture
There were a lot of words from the traditional language used and the author does it skilfully, allowing the reader to discover or infer the meanings on their own as it is used in the prose. One particularly amazing example was the word “bingkin”. I won’t spoil it because the entire sequence was so artfully crafted and has to be experienced for yourself, please.
