Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller
4.0

Do you know what we need more of in Y/A fantasy? You guessed it. Pirates. PIRATES. Honestly, for all the cliches we keep bringing back, why can't we turn pirates into a cliche???? You can't go wrong with pirates. And a female pirate willing to do what it takes to win. Yes. Sign me up.

Alosa is the, believe it or not, daughter of the pirate king. Her ship is mainly made of women. She's capable and deadly. She's exactly how I like my heroines: snarky, deadly and unpredictable.

I won't say that there's any deep meaning to the book. It doesn't make me think. It's not particularly thought-provoking. So don't take this book too seriously - it's not meant to be. It doesn't neglect from delving straight to those emotions nor does it shy away from sensitive themes. But it's not one of those books.

What it is? A sure to be fun read. I'm not going to lie: the romance was an absolute highlight for me. And you know what else is sexy about that romantic interest beside, well, most things about him? Consent!!!! So sexy!!!!!!!
