I was recommended this book by a friend and decided to listen to the audiobook. Off the back of listening to a much more intense and serious series, this book was a bit of an adjustment at first. It’s a lighthearted and playful book in the majority - it is funny but not necessarily a comedy. I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of the book and how much I ended up getting into it.

There isn’t an especially strong plot - the book is mostly about exploration and it does (probably intentionally) remind me of Star Trek in that way. After the first act of the book, there are very few characters that aren’t all the “same” person - I do think the author and the narrator did a good job of differentiating them from each other. I did find the book quite slow going at first, but by the end I was definitely intrigued and looking forward to seeing what would happen to certain “Bobs” and their stories.

I enjoyed the book and will probably check out the sequel - it was a pleasantly surprising listen!
