My first taste of Russian literature. Masterful character work. Immersive and atmospheric. Not an easy read and I feel there are definitely some moments where I didn't understand the significance, but I chalk that up to my own lack of experience with philosophy, scripture and Russian history. Nevertheless I know the story and its characters will stay with me. Certainly warrants a reread down the line.
