If you're reading for the romance, you'll be disappointed. The two main characters don't actually interact that much in the early and middle parts, and it takes WAAAAAY too long until
the MC's gender is revealed to the FL.
The FL is too manipulative and unlikeable for me, but I love the MC. This story is primarily more about the MC's military journey than anything else, and that's fine because the battles are fun. Oh and court intrigue with the Princess.
I'd give it a higher score if not for some of the conflicts resolving too quickly to be believable, and the story taking way too long to end. I feel like there's too much unnecessary parts to the story that just drags it down.
