Cold the Night, Fast the Wolves
by Meg Long
Cold the Night Fast the Wolves is a fast paced stand alone set in frigid arctic landscape. It is a book with sci fi elements that leans heavily on themes of found family, survival and the connection between a girl and her wolf.
What was absolutely great about this one was the world building. The world feels complete and immersive and totally had that bite to the writing you would expect from throwing your characters into the tundra. I haven't read many books like it and considering this is a debut novel, I think this author is making a really strong start for herself.
Another really fun aspect is the high stakes and the sled race (although this doesn't happen until later in the book), It really ups the anticipation of what will happen next. It starts slow but as the action builds it definitely created a bingeable back half. I cannot wait to see what Meg will do in the future!
*just a note for those who love romance, this one doesn't not have any.
