The Murdstone Trilogy
by Mal Peet
This one was a real disappointment. The blurbs on the back had me excited, the first two chapters were great, then it's boring for a long stretch, and then it just gets weird. The concept was great, but the execution is not. Reviewers had recommended this as an adult book that teens would like--I really don't see that.
