An interesting look at race told through a story based on a real shooting that helped ignite some of the 1992 riots in LA. I got more into the story around halfway through the book when the suspense picked up around who really shot Yvonne. Overall, though, I felt like the character development was lacking for a more literary thriller and sometimes the message seemed a little too after school special.
