The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Annie Barrows, Mary Ann Shaffer
5.0
If I could give it infinite stars I would - It's how good this book is!!!
I LOVED this book. The way it is written, the way the story is told - it's brilliant.
I don't read a lot of books about war, even though I know it's important to know what happened. It's usually too much for me because that is not fiction.
This book is post WWII but it still shows a lot of what happened. It still makes you cry, scream, fear etc.
It made me cry. It left me in a stage where I don't feel like reading another book for quite some time. I don't want to say bye to these characters. I want to know more about them, I want to be with them.
I loved the writing, the way the story is told in letters, the way you can visualize everything even though it is told through letters. Gosh, I want to belong to the society!!
