King of Flesh and Bone by Liv Zander

3.0

It's like coming across a car accident. You know you shouldn't look but you just can't look away. Clocking in at under 300 pages, I was like ok, why not.

I wanted to stop reading so many times. This woman's eternity as a sex slave to a crazy twisted god was not my cup of tea. Is the rest of her bleak existence relegated to keeping him from getting bored? It had the same weird Stockholm syndrome vibes as Pestilence. Then we got snippets of our dark villain's backstory which gained him some sympathy and kept me reading.

Despite this ending in a cliffhanger, I don't know if I want to continue the torture.
