The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett by Chelsea Sedoti
3.0
I have never connected with a character more! Hawthorne had all of the same thoughts and feelings I had and then she wrote them down. The book held the words I’ve thought for so long but had never found the way to express. I was near tears at the end but then hearing about Vernon dying and his funeral, comparing it to Lizzie's sent me over. The messages and the way they were told had me unable to put the book down, even reading it in class (something I don't do) and at lunch instead of interacting with my friends. When I have enjoyed books before I have never wanted to say that it could be one of my favourite books until now! 17th May 2017
I’ve just reread it and in some ways wish I hadn’t. I originally rated it 5 stars but now will change it to 3. Although in the beginning, I still very much relate to what it is Hawthorn is saying, after the first 50 pages or so, she really started to annoy me and everything I remembered as being so rich and full before now seemed less. This time round, I cared a lot more about her relationship with her brother and a lot less about the whole werewolf side and the mystery. It was good but not overly brilliant. 28th October 2018
