Return to the Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz
3.0
This book picked up where the movie left off. There was a little summary of the movie at the beginning of the book, but I did not like that. It seemed like if you didn't watch the movie you missed important character development, plus you missed the big capture of Maleficent and good triumphing over evil. Aside from that, this book was on par with the first. It was a fun, fast read. I could have used more Ben and Mal; 16 is too young to have all of the duties of King. We got a better understanding of how large the kingdom is, which was nice. We saw that some of the villains, or their descendants, are tired of being evil and they were inspired by the original 4 to become better. That was a nice surprise. I am looking forward to more of this story, but I am confused about where the upcoming movie fits in with the books...
