Okay, so while the one-liners were great, and the overall essence of the book was good, and fun and clean, much like the 80s and 90s themselves, I got the impression all the way through like I was missing something. Many of the song titles rang some sort of familiar note near the back of my brain, but. By and large, I had a hard time placing most of them.

I have a feeling that would not be the case for the vast majority of my generation, most of whom would likely catch more of the subtext. To me, it came across as a sweet but somewhat disjointed reminiscence of pre-adolscence through young adulthood in the company of some really cool sisters. Who, coincidentally enough, also often seemed to know more about the popular culture of the time than the narrator.

Overall, just plain fun. But probably more fun for the less clueless.
