I have no prior experience with the Communist Manifesto, and found this to be a very functional introduction. I think it's got good bones; it's a sensible framework he builds his exploration on. I appreciated situating it upon understanding the manifesto as a literary form, and following up with the current context. If you're gonna spend money on getting a copy, get it value-added.
