I don’t even know how to review this book. It is so eloquently written, and so evocative without going into deep detail. It is horrifying in so many ways and I will be thinking about it for a very long time. It was not necessarily an enjoyable read as such but it is well written and I did like it.
Graphic: Animal cruelty, Animal death, Body horror, Child death, Death, Gore, Rape, Self harm, Slavery, Trafficking, Grief, Cannibalism, Murder, Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Confinement, Pregnancy
I urge you to look up all of the content warnings yourself before reading. I wouldn’t say this book describes these topics in a ton of detail the way some horror authors do but there is still a lot of it and there is enough detail to have it linger in your head.
