Tracy Deonn’s plotting just gets better and better. I can’t believe it’s not the end of the series but it doesn’t feel like a money grab to push this into a 4th book but a natural exploration of the characters and their world. I love the way Deonn was able to rework Bree’s previous relationships and build on the demon side of this world in this book. Everything is so well done. And while I’m not a big fan of live triangle’s I can feel that Deonn is building the triangle between Bree and the two boys to reflect two opposing worldviews similar to Gale and Peeta in the hunger games. I am starting to see the vision of how Sel and Nick are each other’s foils and while they have much in common, Bree is going to have to choose which worldview she needs more as she seeks to rebuild the world with her power.
