Oh my gosh, this was such a beautiful read, in the most haunting way. If you love crime mysteries, this is for you. This story is told from two perspectives: Naomi, whose life is dedicated to finding lost children, and a lost girl whose imagination and creativity help to make her life situation more bearable. Rene's writing is very lyrical, which is very unlike my normal reads, but it worked perfectly here. She touches on things that almost seem fantastical, but it works here because we are inside the mind of a child. I love reading mysteries that make you take a hard look at the world and this one did just that. I need everyone to read this book!
