It has been SO long since I’ve read a fairy tale retelling that felt original but this was beautifully done. I can’t believe this book isn’t more popular, it has female rage, a terrifying cult, gore, a post apocalyptic wintertime landscape, plague doctors, mermaids, monsters, magic and it’s not even 200 pages long.
