Asylum Hotel by Juliet Blackwell
3.75

The glitz and glamour was obscured by the layers of dust and decay. Something once so beautiful, but now a decrepit mess. The secrets still roamed the halls, the ghosts of time past lingered in the abandoned rooms. It may be still standing in the present, but this place is hauntingly stuck in the past.

Asylum Hotel is a thriller following Aubrey, an architect who loves to explore old, abandoned buildings. She finds herself in a small town where an old abandoned hotel is about to be restored, but the secrets the hotel harbors are delaying the restoration.

This was entertaining and a quick read. I liked being alongside Aubrey as she explored the abandoned hotel and learned about its dark history. The added eeriness and ghost activity gave it a good creepy factor. I did guess some of the twists, but others were a little surprising! The detective in this story was so unprofessional and annoyed me to no end, which hindered my reading a bit, but otherwise a solid thriller/suspense read.
