Managed by Kristen Callihan

The story was about Gabriel and Sophie. Gabriel was Kill John’s manager, one of the biggest rock band in the world. He’s cold, calculating, and a control freak. He has his heart closed-off. So when he met Sophie in the plane, a photographer who wouldn’t shut her mouth, he somehow figured out that she was the only one he wouldn’t be able to manage.

Gabriel’s personality, or oftentimes called as Scottie in Idol, was intriguing. There wasn’t much mentioned about him in the first book so he really came off as this mysterious and successful guy. He definitely got my attention in Idol. This is the sole reason why I read Managed. I wanted to know more about him.

However, this is kinda bleak but I got a little bit disappointed. How he handled his emotions, which was through fighting, was all right. Everyone has their own outlet and that was his. What disappointed me was his temperament and lack of choice of better words. He feels and directly says what he wants to say. He doesn’t think. I’m definitely not saying that he should sugarcoat what he says, just that he thinks “first”. He was reckless and jumped to conclusions abruptly without hearing the other person’s story. I probably just expected more. I understand his struggle though because he was someone who was still learning to process his emotions properly. So maybe that was it.

I admire Sophie’s personality. She was definitely mature for her age. Of course, the conversations, which are my faves, were entertaining. The plot was one of the usual romance stories wherein the mysterious, closed-off guy suddenly falls in love with the go-with-the-flow, outgoing woman.
