This follow-up to Lobizona did not disappoint. I loved the world-building. It was fun to explore Septima society even more in this novel. I appreciated how much depth each individual had. I also really enjoyed the social commentary. I've seen some claim that it was a little heavy-handed but the book is meant for young adults so it didn't bother me too much while reading. The found family trope in this book is done so well. It was also super fast-paced which kept me wanting to read more and more. And that ending 🤯😱.

However, I didn't feel like there was enough closure at the end. The twist at the end was great but I really hope that means we get to see a real conclusion with a third book. There are certain books/genres where it makes sense to end the book on a surprise like that but, in a fantasy, I get to believe that good triumphs and we don't have to settle for less than we deserve. So 🤞🏼 this ends up being a trilogy.
