An enjoyable sequel to the first book that expanded upon Roz's understanding of her own self and past.
After being taken from her island, she is refurbished and sent to work on a farm with a struggling family grieving the loss of the wife/mother. Roz helps their farm rebuild and flourish, until she is reunited with her gosling son and begins formulating a plan on how to get home to her island. It follows her journey though the countryside and city, trying to dodge animal, human, and robotic predators along the way. Eventually she is reunited with her maker and learns more about her identity and purpose, but also shares her own learned perspective which ultimately preserves her safety and reunites her with her beloved island.

I loved the continued themes of Roz being a compassionate and caring helpful assistant to all living beings. Her sentience grows even more throughout this book. The human characters we are introduced to were beautifully represented through Roz's perspective. Overall a lovely follow up that leaves me excited to pick up the next book and see where the adventure continues.
