FINALLY !! THE PROMISED ROMANTASY

Aelin and Rowan are still 🔛🔝 but I loved seeing a truly dedicated romance plot with the best trope — enemies to friends to lovers

tamlin tamlin tamlin, I expected the fall from grace but I did not expect that
tbh I liked that for the most part, feyre and tamlin just weren’t right for each other rather than feyre falling immediately in love with rhysand. tamlin was neglectful but also abusive and it’s so obvious in feyre’s inner dialogue the whole book. when he blew up in the study…phew the cycle of violence was well represented within their relationship

I knew feyre and rhys were mates since their last scene in the first book. also what spectacularly shitty timing to find your mate. I think Rhys did the best he could in that situation esp since feyre’s mental well-being was not good for the first half, though I understand her anger

TOG so far is still the better series, because there were so many moving parts that raised the stakes and built the world and these books just don’t have that. I also feel like SJM is assigning feelings to past scenes especially in rhys’s confession, rather than his motivations/feelings clicking in his recollection. idk if it makes sense, but it just feels inauthentic and disconnected

loved the new cast of characters!! cassian and mor <3<3 I can’t wait to dive deeper into azriel and amren’s characters/stories. Lucien was a huuuuuge disappointment
and I did not expect him to be elain’s mate! I thought it was going to be azriel. anddd it’s pretty obvious that Nesta and cassian are mates and I can’t wait for that as well. Nesta is such a powerful character and I’m excited to see how that manifests in her Fae side
