Nerilka's Story by Anne McCaffrey

This book, like Moreta: Dragonlady of Pern, is a difficult book to read. This book takes place during the same time frame as Moreta but focuses on Nerilka and how her story spins out. So, unsurpisingly, it is a book that starts and follows tragedy, then triumph, just to be followed up with more tragedy. That being sad, Nerilka's Story ends on a wonderfully happy, hopeful note and is the closure one needs for this story. I really do love McCaffrey's writing and Nerilka's character and book is definitely one of my favorite volumes of Pern, despite all the heartache.
