ajw’s books are like crack to me. literally the definition of cannot put the book down.

in comparison to HFWU and TSBIT, compound fracture is more of a thriller than a horror. however, it’s still quite dark, especially for a YA book, and i’d recommend looking at content warnings. but andrew always handles trauma with care and always leaves you feeling hopeful. basically it never feels exploitative

our mc is autistic and queer and that’s amazing but i also really appreciate that he feels like a real, tangible person, his identities are important but they’re not everything. the same can be said about the side-characters; they’re complex and lovable and saint (a side-character) actually ended up being my favourite

i don’t even really write reviews i just wanted to ramble because god can pry andrew’s books from my
cold dead hands and i don’t know what im going to do with myself until his next release comes out
