Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey
3.0
What a weird book. Lol
Five stars for narration. He makes you feel like he’s telling you stories from a cabin somewhere and you’re all three whiskeys in and it’s 3am.
But he will tell you the MOST unhinged life story and then just yell “Green Light.” Or mention something traumatic and gloss right on by.
The book is also weirdly organized. About the time you think he’s an idiot, he says something really interesting and profound. About the time you think he’s a genius, he says something completely insensible.
I like how he accepts those in his life unconditionally and seems to appreciate the non-celebrity aspects of life. Movies are his profession and not his life at all.
