Book Lovers by Emily Henry
5.0
THIS IS THE MOST PERFECT ROMCOM BOOK IN THE WORLD.
✓ numerous literary references
✓ incredibly sharp (and believable) dialogue
✓ characters I actually cared about
✓ poetic descriptions of nature and books
✓ legitimately funny humor
✓ heartwarming, honest portrayal of familial love
✓ spicy scenes that are actually kinda hot and not super cringy
It has it all, folks. Idk if it's because it was a book about people who loved books, or if it's because it was about sisters who would do anything for each other or if it's because Emily Henry is a genius, but I loved it.
And I usually don't have super high praise for beach reads. I usually consider them the cotton candy of the novel world - tasty and fun for a few bites but ultimately void of real value and, honestly, not something I'm really proud of consuming...
But this one? Read it. I loved it. I don't know what else to tell you. The end.
