Auren is so stupid 😭 I was visibly cringing and responding verbally to her choices and narration (was listening to the audio book – which I don’t really recommend, the audio quality kind of sucks and the voice actors, while good at their jobs, are annoying)

For a more substantive review: there are some word choices and turns of phrase that I simply cannot suspend my disbelief enough to accept that they exist in this world. The world building simply isn’t strong or in-depth enough for me to believe in any of it. Also, it feels like the author is trying too hard to have  her story Say Something about humanity and feminism instead of letting the story do it for her.

That being said I AM invested enough in the story to keep reading (and even buy the kindle versions of the next books).
