really really informative and cool to see the flip side of someone’s experience with socialism and communism, since i feel like i’m so used to those who have those values rather than being people affected by them.
ypi gives an incredibly insightful narrative when she was younger growing up in communist albania, i had to keep reminding myself that it was non-fiction.
the first half was really inciting and the second a little dragging. nevertheless, i wasn’t disappointed with the story at all: more so to do with the writing style.
the half way point had my jaw on the floor, such a reveal. i recommend this to absolutely anyone.
