Whisper Network

I love the idea, but the execution fell a little flat for me. Like others, I really enjoyed the opening sections of each chapter &wish the author's note had been placed at the beginning to help explain the structure. I was confused for the first few chapters over who the "we" was before I realized it was general and the nitty gritty of the story would start one paragraph in.
The story fell flat for me in the characters - I often got them confused with one another and felt it was hard to keep their storylines/husbands/children straight. They also seem a teensy bit stereotypical, which takes away from the message, I think. Lastly, I had trouble keeping the overall story straight over what was true or not and who knew what at what time - I felt like the biggest "twist" at the end was oddly convenient and never remotely suggested beforehand, which didn't help achieve the "omg" factor and I honestly don't know if the final pages were actually the truth or a comforting lie in the name of friendship.
Overall, 3 stars. Not a thriller for me and confusing at times, but I appreciate the attempt and her writing outside the core plot.
