This book is fascinating. It never dragged on, so I was always engaged in my reading. It has everything - history, excerpts from Frantz Schmidt’s journal, and philosophical thoughts and questions. However, the ending is rather bittersweet for me: bitter - the fact that Frantz had no surviving children and grandchildren; sweet - the fact that he restored his honor.
