This wasn’t my favourite of the season to be honest! I thought it was just kind of okay.
I think it paved the way for lots of more interesting storylines in the next book, but this just kind of felt like a precursor to a lot of those instead of being a book centralised around its own plot.
There was a shameful amount of each subplot sprinkled in. I’m supposed to believe the affections R+O have for each other based on like 3 chapters randomly interspersed throughout the novel?
And to be interested in the other two queens when we still barely know anything about them, despite this being book 4 in a series?
This one just felt a little strange- as if the author had changed the route of the series and had to make this fit into the story somehow.
Will be reading on to see how it wraps up though.
