No Mercy by Joanna Schaffhausen

It was a good book. I loved how there were multiple mysteries going on at once without leaving you feeling like it was too much. I didnt know it was a series so I didnt read the 1st one. It was a stand alone. It referenced the first book without me thinking I had to stop and read the 1st one to understand .

The main character was a suspended police officer who was a victim of an abduction as a child and a serial killer as an adult. The hit on her demons and how she deals with them. It follows her relation with her recovery as well as with a FBI friend who saved her when she was a kid.

It follows mysteries she comes across while at a therapy group for victims of violent crime
