Simon Reeve is clearly a remarkable individual to have progressed from such inauspicious younger life through to the accomplished and confident adult he is now.Given the success his brother has enjoyed they are clearly, under it all, a very capable family.
I really enjoyed the story of his emergence from youthful wildness to perceptive adult. His time with The Sunday Times was a tribute both to his own initiative but also the affirming and encouraging attitudes of the established staff at the time.
When he was travelling I really appreciated his objective to show both the beauty and the ugliness. He managed to lift the spirits with some of his encounters but also to make me realise how difficult are some peoples lives.
