If You Could See The Sun meets To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before in this new delightful and hilarious academic rivals-to-lovers romcom!

Sadie Wen has always been the perfect student; outstanding grades, medals, and achievements that will secure her future at Berkeley. But there’s one constant thorn at her side: her biggest rival and co-captain of Woodvale Academy, Julius Gong. The only boy who’s ever come close to Sadie’s perfect record and has somehow managed to look equally handsome, and annoying (according to her). With only endless bickering for over ten years, nobody thought things would take for a turn until she made the mistake of accidentally sending out her rage-fueled supposedly draft, emails to the entire student body. Overnight, Sadie’s conflict-free life is turned upside down and she’s determined to put things back to the way they were. But on one condition: she needs to have Julius by her side. Nonetheless, her “nightmare” might not be what she thinks it is, when the boy she’s grown to hate swiftly changes the direction of her carefully crafted demeanor… and possibly even her feelings.

This one is for the girls who seek academic validation and will always struggle to find their place in the world. Sadie and Julius’ story is so Lover and Fearless coded! It was such an enjoyable read and I had so much fun delving into Ann Liang’s charming prose once again. This was very easy to get into and offers lots of comical dynamics, sarcastic banter, and a butterflies-inducing romance. Not only that, but the clichés of young love will make you want for more! I’ve always craved the validation and acceptance of other people that without fail, I will always try to please them and that’s what made Sadie’s character very real and relatable to me. At one point, people’s passions will be traded for practicality and financial stability and reading about that made me realize how scary it is to grow into adulthood. Aside from that, the other personalities present in Sadie’s life were a contrast to my reality as a college student and that’s what made me love this book more. Julius, on the other hand, is a very entertaining character that is the complete opposite of Sadie yet just as loveable and was perfectly written as the ideal guy for every hopeless romantic out there.

Overall, the story is just so cute and perfect and just so incredibly good and worth every readers’ time in the world that I can tell you’re truly missing out if you haven’t touched a book by Ann Liang because she will always hit different, and her writing just gets better and better!
