Don't judge a book thief by his cover...or a policeman either. Once again Donna Leon shows us that aethetic pleasure and criminal behavior can go hand in hand in the rarefied, crumbling, golden atmosphere of Venice, the city she evoke so well. My only problem with the book is the abrupt ending.
