life is hard & exhausting & there's something new everyday. the idea of taking a year of rest and relaxation - although not to this extreme - sounds extremely appealing. but unfortunately for me, i don't have a trust fund nor the
questionable psychiatrist willing to rx me copious amounts of pills
to fallback on. so alas, i'll keep trucking along exhausted.

this protagonist is extremely unlikeable but i think that's the point. life is about making the best of and making it through hard moments but also embracing those random bursts of joy, awe, courage. this book shows this through the entire premise even though the character doesn't do much. i think it could've been ~50-60 less pages and could've gotten to that final commitment to rest a little sooner.

a book i will be thinking about for a while.
