storiedadventures 's review for:
Instructions for Dancing
by Nicola Yoon
Mmmkay. This is a really hard review to write. I personally wouldn't read this again, BUT I think it deserves 5 stars. The writing, execution, and story are phenomenal SO just because I didn't agree with some of the content and it wasn't my cup of tea, doesn't mean this book doesn't deserve 5 stars.
First of all, I LOVED the message of this book. Love is worth it.
I did not agree with the way the parents handled their divorce. I highly disagree. As someone who has studied trauma for years, the way that all went down is awful.
Lastly, I thought this was a romcom. Go ahead. Laugh. I know.
I personally can't handle sad books. They affect my mood way too much so I try to stay away... So with that being said, I was a sobbing mess.
